Today my friend Sonia and I walked down to a Maori Thermal Village. People do actually live there and they put on a performance that was pretty interesting. The sun was boiling today and despite my sunscreen, I'm still burnt. Pinker by the minute.
The local childrens swim down in the river below the bridge and yell for tourists to throw money at them. Penny diving. Once you throw it in, they have to find it at the bottom. Who knows how often they actually find it. Funny thing is that they demand the gold ones, which of course are the 1 and 2 dollar coins. Smart kids.
I'm heading out to Taupo in a couple hours and am excited about what to do there. My new friend Sonia is planning to bungy so I might join her! We'll see. If I get up to the top and decide I'm too chicken to jump, will they just push me? I hope so. That might be the only way to get me down.
Check out my pics from the last few days!

If you do bungy, don't dip your head, you'll get fuel from the boat forced up your nose on the way back up.
